Official Privacy Policy of the Book Launch Contest for The Age of Anomaly
Your privacy is critically important to me and as such:
I don't ask you for personal information unless I truly need it.
I don't share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law.
I don't store personal information on my server(s).
Website Visitors
On OneMinuteEconomics.com, I inevitably collect identifying information of the sort that Web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. My purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use the website.
Like all websites, mine also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. I do not use such information to identify my visitors, however, and do not disclose such information, other than under circumstances that involve legal compliance.
Gathering of Email and Personally-Identifying Information
To put together the contest, it is impossible not to have a means of contacting the winners. As such, email addresses need to be collected and to prove that certain actions have been performed, the participants will be including details and, if necessary, screenshots in the emails they send.
That information (email addresses and anything included in the emails) will never be sold or otherwise made available to third parties, unless it is explicitly required for legal reasons. I respect people's rights to privacy and take these matters very seriously.
Aggregated Statistics
To figure out how well a certain advertising campaign has performed, I do of course monitor my traffic statistics but this is always done in a "general overview" manner, with my intention being to strictly gauge the performance of an ad or campaign, without in any way interfering with the privacy rights of the people who visit.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Nobody will have access to email addresses or other sensitive information other than myself and as mentioned previously, this information will not be made available to third parties unless I am required to do so by law.
Cookies
A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. I use cookies to help identify and track visitor behavior. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before taking part in the contest.
Privacy Policy Changes
Although most changes are likely to be minor, I reserve the right to change my Privacy Policy from time to time, and in my sole discretion. I encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to the Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
